What Would You Do?

We should always acknowledge the importance of trying to accomplish tasks unaided, on your own as much as possible, for the purpose of truly learning the lesson at hand for attempting the feat in the first place.  At the same time, isn’t it nice to know, you can usually rest easy knowing that if you get into a bind that friends and family will be standing by to help out if assistance is needed and asked for?  And occasionally we do ask for help which is granted, sometimes openly, sometimes quietly, almost as if it’s a secret.

But even so, imagine the sense of accomplishment when all is said and done and you can take a step back, look at and admire your success!

Then suppose that your friends and family, upon seeing your achievement also cheer for you, and offer to throw a big celebration in your honor, and in addition show you some other neat tricks that will make your life even richer, more Beautiful and filled with Joy ~ would you accept their offer, or would you tell them that it’s not necessary, that you’ve gotten this far on your own you really don’t want their involvement?

I know what I would do.  But I’m curious to know; what would you do?

I welcome your comments... :-)

  1. I say celebrate! Live and allow others to celebrate with you. :) It's a beautiful thing. Let go of the "SELF"ishness and embrace the WE-ness! :)

  2. Remember that pride will eventually bring you down, but your friends & family will pick you back up. So celebrate!

  3. I would have to say that I agree with the previous 2 comments, and will add that in order for another to be a "giver" there needs to be a "receiver"....and, isn't it as blessed to receive as it is to give?
